Approximately 70% of dust inside a building is brought in from outside. An effective way of trapping this dust is by using a dust mat. Mats stop dust before it enters; mats also enhance the company's appearance and safety measures 1 square meter of commercial matting can collect around 0.25 kg of dust and dirt in one week and twice as much in rainy weather. A mere 10% of dirt is removed from mats with a vacuum cleaner.
By installing dust mats, areas such as high-traffic areas and carpets are protected from wear and tear. They also absorb water, mud and internally-generated soil.
